Natural sunlight at dawn through our eyes has the most beneficial effect to boost our Melatonin synthesis and store. Melatonin is crucial for our deep sleep.
When the sun first appears in the sky, I routinely look in the vicinity of the sun most mornings for 5 to 10 minutes to replenish my Melatonin store for my sleep and for the prevention of Macular Degeneration and general health and well being.
Melatonin along with vitamin D is made in our body and has proven to be the most powerful substance to keep us healthy.
At midday a couple times a week, I take a sun bath (with my head covered) for 10 to 20 minutes at a time to optimize my vitamin D store. There are powerful positive effects the sun exerts including structured water molecules around the proteins and to synthesize cholesterol sulfate to activate many of necessary enzymatic function.
It is recommended to condition the skin for gradual production of pigments with five minutes of sun exposure a day initially, to slowly work up to 10 to 20 minutes at a time. I cover up my face and head and eyes to expose just the body during the sun therapy at mid day. I avoid the use of sunscreen unless there is prolong sun exposure. In addition I take 5 to 20 K IU of vitamin D3 to maintain my serum D3 to 60 to 65 ng/ml which is optimal for autoimmune conditions. Use of vitamin D3 blood test is a good guide. My genetic dictate my vitamin D daily dose to 5 K in summer, yet 10 to 20 K unites a day in winter months.
